Xenogears - Still the best plot of any JRPG ever. Makes FF7 look like a summer movie.
Final Fantasy 8 - The most unusual Final Fantasy to date, and the most intimate.
Vagrant Story - Some of Square's best PSX RPG's were not in the Final fantasy series.
This is quite possibly their most avant-garde and atmospheric PSX offering. Certainly the most mature RPG Square's come out with yet.
Chrono Cross - Once you get over the fact that it has virtually nothing to do with Chrono Trigger, you realize this is a stellar game.
Armored Core - Best. Mech. Game. Ever. On. Any. Platform.
Star Ocean 2 - The beautiful music, staggering size and complexity, and fun battle system make this a must have.
Wild Arms 2 - A me-too RPG that has quite a good plot and some interesting gameplay mechanics. Graphically mediocre, though.
Crash Bandicoot Warped - In my opinion, this is the best 5th-gen platformer after Super Mario 64.
Brave Fencer Musashi - A vaguely Zelda-ish game with a rather large quantity of decidedly quirky humor. It's very fun too.
